RELEASE OF GCSE MATHS RESULTS - UPDATE
We have again pressed the Exam Board for news on release of our Maths results and have been assured that they are working as quickly as possible to resolve their administrative log jam.
You will have probably noticed the media has highlighted the scale of the problem nationally with Headteachers either unable to access results or querying those that have been released – especially iGCSE English. We too have ordered the re-marking of exam papers in English where we have concerns over the accuracy of marking.
This continues to be a very frustrating and difficult period for us all.
I have never come across such problems in over 20 years of Headship.
We will of course contact you immediately the results are released by all means at our disposal – email, text, website telephone etc…

Dear Year 11 Students
RELEASE OF GCSE MATHS RESULTS
We are still waiting for the release of our maths results.
It appears that the Exam Boards are in chaos dealing with large numbers of administrative problems, affecting large numbers of schools one of which, unfortunately, is ours.
Mrs Austwick, Mrs Hunter and Mr Chippindale have worked tirelessly to press the Board for release and today I have stepped in to add my weight to the process.
They have told me we will be treated as a priority but it could take up to two weeks because of the number of schools involved. I find this totally unacceptable and have now involved my professional association, the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) to help add more pressure.
We have been reassured by Wakefield District College that your enrolment on courses will not be affected and if you have not yet enrolled they would like you to keep your appointment. As soon as Wakefield District College receive the maths results they will be in touch to complete enrolment.
Students enrolling with New College, Pontefract must continue with the normal enrolment procedure and predicted grades will be used at the present time until final grades are confirmed.
I can only imagine the stress that you and your family are going through at this time and can assure you that we are all doing our level best to speed the process up.
