Duke of Edinburgh's Award Success
Naomi, Tia, Korah, Yazmin and Leah participated in the pilot scheme between the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and the ICC Solutions franchise. The hope was to create a new section that would be approved as a new skill section to the award which would be launched nationwide.
6 schools from the north of England reached the finals held in Warrington and attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire. The group were set the challenge of creating a product to export to a chosen country. This was then given as a presentation to a judging panel consisting of ICC directors and the National Director for the D of E.
With the assistance of Mr Webb the team created a marvellous presentation that showed effort and an aptitude for exporting. The team came a respectable 4th place and secured a prize of £500 for the academy and also completed the skill section of their award. The Lord Lieutenant came and gave specific praise to our team and especially Naomi. This was a proud moment for the academy and one I am glad I was a part of!
