Presentation Evening 2016

An evening of celebration was enjoyed by former year 11 students and their parents, staff and other guests on Thursday 17th November.  This much anticipated event for all of the students was the culmination of five years of hard work and commitment.  The students received their certificates and awards for their efforts and attainment across all of their subjects studied.

The special guest for the evening was former Rugby League professional Danny Sculthorpe who touched the audience with his astonishing personal story and tale of outstanding resilience in the face of great adversity.

This year also saw the introduction of a brand new award:  'The Alex Rose Award'.  This has been created to celebrate the achievement of particularly hard working youngsters whilst fittingly remembering former student Alex Rose who sadly passed away earlier this year after a brave fight against cancer.  The academy would very much like to thank Alex's Mum who came in to present the award.

This final formal gathering was a fitting tribute to an excellent year group.
