STEM Stop The Clock Day
On the 18th of October year 8 participated in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) themed ‘stop the clock day’ where they had the challenge of designing and making a new biscuit to be sold in the school canteen. Each form had to work together to design and make the biscuit. This was a challenge as the forms found that a design idea may have to change once it is in the making process. Each form had a project manager that had to communicate between the different teams on the day. This gave year 8 an opportunity to experience time pressure and team work. During period four each team created an advert to persuade Mr Rayner (Head of Year 8) to pick their design. All the adverts will be watched in Friday’s assembly and the winning group will be announced. The winning team will have their biscuit made and sold in the school canteen after half term.
